Washing Face Without Water: Why I Turned to No-Water Cleansing?

Only a few months ago I didn’t believe I would be able to wash my face without water. Shockingly for me, I ended up giving the method a try and… love the effects!

This post is made for anyone who thinks their skin needs a revolution. The no-water face wash technique sounds irrational but it does make sense and really brings great benefits. If you feel like introducing some skin care changes, read on. The post explains what the method involves, how to start, and what for.

Washing face without water

Unsurprisingly, the method involves washing the face and eliminating water in this daily routine. It turns out there are plenty of ways to cleanse the complexion and they’re worth trying because water isn’t skin-friendly.

Why does no-water face wash bring benefits?

There is one major reason why I went for washing my face without water.

Unfortunately, water may cause skin to dry out. Water turns slightly acidic pH to alkaline, which often makes the face feel tight, and leaves skin very dry. Dry patches, irritations, flaky skin: they are only some of the effects of water-based face washing.

In my case every face wash with water ended up in skin so dry that I HAD TO use a moisturizer or (even better) hydrating serum and a moisturizer because the dryness and tight-feeling face were unbearable…

If not water, then what to use instead?

I decided I had to find an alternative for cleansing my complexion. I started reading about the no-water face washing method. Surprisingly, there are lots of products that successfully replace water. Here are the best water substitutes to use for face washing:

  • micellar water: good micellar water cleanses the skin well by removing make-up as well as attracting all particles of dirt, leaving the face clear.
  • face oils: oils are cut out for eliminating grease (oil removes oil) so use a blend of castor and argan oil instead of water.
  • face foam: there are specially-designed face foams that don’t require water because they are runny and lightweight enough to leave the skin clean without rinsing with water.
  • thermal water: even though it’s water, it’s not just regular water because it has health benefits, abounds in minerals and instead of drying out the complexion, it nourishes while washing and solves many problems.

Effects of washing face without water

What’s all the fad about? Can’t we simply wash the face with water and apply a moisturizer as usual? I believe turning to no-water cleansing really brings benefits.

I use multiple products: oil, next micellar water, and finish with a skin toner. My routine turns out to be very beneficial for the skin. I no longer suffer because of the hated tight-feeling face, plus the skin is less dry. I guess this is the secret to a perfectly-moisturized complexion that I’d been looking for so long. The dry patches that used to appear after water-based washing are now gone!

Summing up, this method really works. Why don’t you give it a try?
