Testing under-eye patches – which ones are the best?

Hey!

I know that many of you do not even think about proper care of the the skin under your eyes. Eye cream? Not yet! There are, however, moments when even young skin requires special care: dark circles, tiredness visible on the face … what to do then? Gel eye patches might help you. In addition to those with lifting and rejuvenating properties, there are products for your big events that moisturise and improve the general condition of the skin. I decided to test both. Which rejuvenate and which “mask” fatigue and relieve swelling? What ingredients should contain good eye patches? Which ones are worth buying? Check my review.

Under-eye patches – what are they?

The under-eye patches are two soft pads made of elastic substance (actually resembling gel). They can also be made of a special fabric (it is often silk).

The patches have a special shape – they look like two tears or, if you prefer, boats. They are slightly wider on one side and on the other they are narrower so that there is no doubt about how to properly apply them to the skin,

The patches should be removed from the package (they are wet, because they are soaked in a nutritional serum containing a series of active ingredients).

When to use the under-eye patches?

Why have they been invented? When should you start using it?

Under-eye pads have been created to quickly and intensively nourish the skin under the eyes. They are much stronger than traditional cream or regular eye serum. It’s almost like a ‘beauty injection’ for the skin under the eyes. Those pads reduce dark circles, swelling, the visibility of wrinkles and lift. Of course, not permanently – they won’t work like a botox injection or other invasive treatment – but will help the skin to get back to shape. In other words, the under-eye patches are a remedy for imperfections of our skin.

How to apply under-eye patches?

You can use them in two ways:

  1. As a one-time, instant treatment immediately improving the condition of the skin under the eyes (the so-called nourishing shoot before a night out).
  2. As a special treatment (moisturising, brightening, lifting – depending on the needs of the skin) – then patches should be applied daily for several days, or 1-2 times a week for about a month.

What should contain high-quality under-eye patches?

If you’re looking for moisturising or reducing dark circles and puffiness patches, make sure they contain:

  • collagen,
  • hyaluronic acid,
  • pearl extract,
  • vitamins (E, C, B3),
  • allantoin,
  • d-panthenol,
  • oil, for example rose oil,
  • extracts from Euphrasia,
  • cucumber extracts.

If you’re looking for a good skin lifting and firming patches, check if they contain:

  • gold,
  • hyaluronic acid,
  • collagen, phyto-collagen,
  • vitamins and minerals,
  • snail slime,
  • algae extracts,
  • heparin,
  • retinol,
  • Coenzyme Q10,
  • peptides,
  • caviar extract.

Which under-eye patches are the best?

Recently, I’ve tested a lot of them. I can tell you that the price definitely translates into the quality. Unfortunately, the cheapest ones have small amount of ingredients, instead having silicone and alcohol. One of the best under-eye patches at a reasonable price are those from the Sephora Collection. The second on the list are the ones of the Korean brand Skin 79 with snail slime, they are the best! Equally excellent, but with a higher price (much higher..) are the patches of Estee Lauder. It’s something wonderful. After only one use the skin looks 10 years younger. The effect lasts for several days. Another (expensive) hit are the Helena Rubinstein Powercell pads. I got them as a gift so it didn’t ruin my budget, but I admit that this is quite a sum. There are 6 patches in the package, therefore enough for 3 uses. They perfectly smooth, tighten and brighten the skin at the same time rejuvenating your look. They effectively work for a long time, you can use them every two weeks to preserve the effect.

From the range of cheaper pads, I usually paid attention to amount of active and synthetic ingredients they contain. The ones with gold were perfect for my skin – it turns out that gold has rejuvenating properties and stimulates natural regeneration processes. If you would like to remove the first, tiny wrinkles, I recommend under-eye pads with gold. I used them as a 3-day treatment and applied them to my skin every evening.

Do you know any good under-eye patches? Feel free to let me know 🙂
